CFTC commitment of traders report was released on Friday (17th November) and cover positions up to Tuesday (14th November). COT report is not a complete presenter of entire market positions; however, it represents a good chunk of institutional traders, to have a feel of what expected of the big players.

- Gold – Net position long and decreasing
Long positions declined last week but marginally. The net long position decreased by 706 contracts to +195.1K contracts.
- Copper – Net position long and decreasing
Long positions declined for the third consecutive week. The net longs decreased by 2,861 contracts to +39.7K contracts.
- Silver – Net position long and increasing
Long positions rose last week contrasting with gold and this time by 271 contracts to +69.2K contracts.
- WTI Crude – Net position long and increasing
Speculators increased long positions for a fifth consecutive week and by 51,260 contracts, which brought the net positions to +596.5K contracts.
- Natural gas – Net position short and decreasing
Short positions declined for the second consecutive week and by 21,974 contracts that pushed the net position to -63.4K contracts.
