CFTC commitment of traders report was released on Friday (19th May) and cover positions up to Tuesday (16th May). COT report is not a complete presenter of entire market positions; however, it represents a good chunk of institutional traders, to have a feel of what expected by the big players.

- Gold – Net position long and decreasing
Long positions declined for the third consecutive week. The net long position decreased by 23,282 contracts to +126.7K contracts.
- Copper – – Net position long and increasing
Long positions increased marginally last week. The net longs increased by 565 contracts to +8.6K contracts.
- Silver – Net position long and decreasing
Long positions declined for a fifth consecutive week and by 10,651 contracts to +43K contracts.
- WTI Crude – Net position long and decreasing
Speculators covered long positions for a fourth consecutive week and by 12,152 contracts, which brought the net positions to +388.7K contracts.
- Natural gas – Net position long and increasing
Long position increased by 37,143 contracts and that pushed the net position to +56.6K contracts.
