CFTC commitment of traders report was released on Friday (13th July) and cover positions up to Tuesday (10th July). COT report is not a complete presenter of entire market positions; however, it represents a good chunk of institutional traders, to have a feel of what expected by the big players.

- Gold – Net position long and increasing
Long positions rose for a second consecutive week. The net long positions got increased by 3,107 contracts to +81.4K contracts.
- Copper – Net position long and decreasing
Long positions declined for the fourth consecutive week. The net longs declined by 11,322 contracts to +14.2K contracts.
- Silver – Net position long and decreasing
The long positions declined for a second consecutive week and by 983 contracts to +23.7K contracts.
- WTI Crude – Net position long and decreasing
Speculators reduced long positions for a third consecutive week, and by 2,255 contracts, which brought the net positions to +654.5K contracts.
- Natural gas – Net position short and increasing
Short positions rose by 9,880 contracts last week to -99.7K contracts.
