‘Kung Fu Panda 4’ Release Date, Spoilers: 4th Sequel Confirmed; Here Are Other Details to Know

“Kung Fu Panda 4” is one of the most awaited animation films today. It has been two years already since the third installment was released, so it is high time that a fourth one should hit the theaters. Fans are even delighted just to read reports that the next movie is already in the works.

So, is “Kung Fu Panda 4” already confirmed?

Actually, Jeffrey Katzenberg, DreamWorks Animation chief, already said in the past that they had been planning for animation sequels of their hit movies like “Shrek” and “How to Train Your Dragon” and, of course, “Kung Fu Panda” is included.

Speaking to Empire, the chief said, “Kung Fu Panda actually has 6 chapters to it, and we’ve mapped that out over the years.”

With what he said, it can be assumed that indeed “Kung Fu Panda 4” is coming, and two more after that will be released. However, when it will be is still unclear.

Release Date

It’s only been two years since the third sequel was released and because producing an animation film takes a lot of time, it is easy to see why the fourth installment is not yet here.

Moreover, as mentioned, DreamWorks plans to produce sequels for their blockbuster animations so they must be doing it one at a time. It is possible that the schedule for “Kung Fu Panda” has not been set yet so fans still have to wait for a while. But then again, who knows? They could make an announcement anytime. In any case, Otakukart mentioned that “Kung Fun Panda 4” was to be released in 2018 but it was delayed and moved to 2020.

Who Will Star in the "Panda" Sequel?

It is highly likely that the cast will remain the same as in the previous sequel. There is also a chance that new characters are joining in “Kung Fu Panda 4,” so besides the lead players like Jack Black, Seth Rogen and Angelina Jolie, the movie may introduce some new supporting actors.
