Korean blockchain development platform ‘CoinStack’ obtains state-authorized GS certification

South Korea-based blockchain startup Blocko Inc announced that its blockchain development platform ‘CoinStack’ has got the first-class Good Software (GS) Certificate, which is a state-authorized certification in blockchain software industry, BusinessKorea reported.

The GS certification will be granted after successful passing of rigorous tests on software’s functionality, reliability, usability, and performance based on the standard of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

“CoinStack is contributing to the services for blockchain customers of Korea Exchange, Lotte Card and Jeonbuk Bank, receiving favorable evaluations and recognition. With the acquisition of the GS certification, we are now able to offer excellent blockchain products in terms of functionality and performance to customers,” Kim Won-beom, CEO of Blocko, said.

Those products, that have GS certification can be exempted from the third-party unit price contract of the Public Procurement Service, the registration in the Korea On-line E-Procurement System, and the performance test of the Small and Medium Business Administration. It can also acquire benefits including a designation as preferential purchases by public agencies.

Released in July 2015, CoinStack is a middleware that enables developers to conveniently develop and operate blockchain-based applications. It provides Software Development Kit and its integrated blockchain technology stacks. Blocko recently completed the development of smart contracts engine that is compatible with the smart contract of Ethereum.

The customer companies can choose from three types including ‘Public Blockchain’, ‘Private Blockchain’ and ‘Cloud and On-Premise’, according to their purpose and budget for the blockchain adoption. Individual developers can access the Coinstack SDKs and APIs of Blocko on its website free of charge.
