Korean Standards Association partners with Walton Blockchain Institute

The Korean Standards Association (KSA), a public organization under South Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE), has entered into a partnership with the Walton Blockchain Institute in order to foster blockchain development.

Under the partnership, both parties will cooperate on blockchain education program design and operation, the inclusion and operation of the blockchain private qualification system and qualification verification, and participation and operation of government support topics in the blockchain industry.

“The purpose of this partnership agreement is to promote blockchain-related technical education, cultivate talents and enhance IT professionalism.” The achievement of the blockchain education is our current priority and the cultivation of blockchain talents is the cornerstone for the development of the future blockchain technology,” Managing Director of the Korea Standards Association Lim Hyeon Cheol emphasized.

Walton Blockchain Institute was officially established earlier this month by the South Korean government. On June 8, 2018, the Ministry of Science and ICT of the Government of the Republic of Korea approved the first blockchain research and education institute – the Walton Blockchain Institute.

According to an online post, Walton Blockchain Institute collaborated with the KSA to launch a training course on the issuance of blockchain qualifications, and introduce a Blockchain Expert Qualification Certificate, a private-certified qualification. The first appraisal exam will be held in the second half of this year. Blockchain expert qualifications are classified into Level 1 and Level 2; Level 2 requires a written test, and Level 1 is assessed through a written test and an interview.
