Kellogg utilizes NaviLens technology for easy detection of cereal boxes

The Kellogg Company has become the first food company in the US to introduce NaviLens technology on its packaging, enable consumers to easily locate the boxes from several feet away.

With NaviLens technology, the front and side of the cereal boxes of Corn Flakes, Coco Pops, Special K, Rice Krispies, and Crispix, will be equipped with an optical smart code that can be detected and read by the NaviLens and NaviLens Go apps.

The appsket customers hear the brand names, package sizes, and nutritional information, in up to 36 languages.

THe technology also helps the visually impaired perform everyday tasks.

According to Charisse Hughes, chief brand and advanced analytics officer of Kellogg, the heart of their ESG strategy is the advancement of sustainable and equitable access to food.

In addition to the cereal packaging, Kellogg says it will incorporate the codes in all corporate facilities in the US by the end of 2023 to make the sites more accessible and easier to navigate for blind and low-vision employees.
