Italian industrial producer price index remains unchanged sequentially in December

Italian industrial producer price index remained unchanged on a month-on-month basis in December, according to the official statistical office, ISTAT. Prices stayed the same in both domestic and non-domestic market.

For the average of the last three months, the percentage change dropped 0.2 percent compared to the previous three months. For domestic market, it fell 0.3 percent, whereas for the non-domestic market it came in at 0.0 percent.

On a year-on-year basis, the industrial producer price index fell 2.1 percent. For the domestic market, prices fell 3.1 percent and rose 0.4 percent for non-domestic market. For the whole of 2019, prices rose 0.2 percent year-on-year.

Meanwhile, the construction producer price index of residential buildings and non-residential buildings rose 0.1 percent on a sequential basis as well as on a year-on-year basis. The construction producer prices index of roads and railways was stable on a sequential basis, while it fell 0.1 percent year-on-year.

For the whole of 2019, construction producer prices for residential buildings and non-residential buildings for roads and railways rose 0.1 percent each on a year-on-year basis.
