VERNAL, Utah, Jan. 22, 2016 -- Superior Drilling Products, Inc. (NYSE MKT:SDPI) (“SDP” or the “Company”), a provider of drilling products for the oil, natural gas and mining services industries, announced today that Lane Snell, the Company’s Vice President of Engineering, has been invited to address the International Association of Directional Drilling (IADD) at its monthly meeting to be held at Southwestern Energy Company (NYSE:SWN) in Houston, Texas on January 28, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. Central.
The topic of Mr. Snell’s presentation will be “Drill-N-Ream™: The Benefits of Using a Well-bore Conditioning Tool.” Conditioning the well-bore during drilling provides many benefits to the drilling process and after reaching Total Depth (TD). While drilling, a quality well-bore improves weight on bit transfer, lessens torque and drag, and reduces drill string vibrations. This results in faster rate of penetration and longer life for downhole tools. After TD is reached, a quality well-bore eliminates the need for dedicated wiper trips, improves running casing and also increases the quality of the cement bond.
Mr. Snell will highlight why the unique reaming assembly technology of the Company’s patented Drill-N-Ream™ well bore conditioning tool, enables faster, more efficient and precise directional drilling that produces lower drilling and overall production costs.
A graduate of the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, Mr. Snell began his career with Hughes Tool Company, which was later incorporated into Baker Hughes. He advanced through various engineering positions over 24 years, including Field Engineer in Denver, Colorado, District Engineer for the Rocky Mountain area and a Region Engineer for North America. Mr. Snell also developed special products for applications around the world as a Project Engineer. He joined SDP in May 2014. Mr. Snell has two patents issued and three pending. Four of the patents are related to bit features and one is related to a method of drilling boreholes based on mechanical specific energy determined by the weight on bit and torque measurements at the bit.
