Health IT Conference 2017 to premier ‘Blockchain in Healthcare' event on February 22

HIMSS17, the Health IT Conference for 2017, will premier ‘Blockchain in Healthcare, a Rock Stars of Technology Event’ that is presented by IEEE Computer Society and the Personal Connected Health Alliance.

The premier event will offer business and IT professionals, the awareness and knowledge they need to protect data, electronic health records, health information exchanges, connected devices, among others, using blockchain technology.

Blockchain in Healthcare will focus on addressing security and data integrity issues of patient data that are managed by doctors, hospitals and insurance companies. The event will take place on February 22 at the HIMSS Annual Conference & Exhibition in Orlando.

The event will feature a lineup of topics including blockchain use cases and opportunities in healthcare, advancing progress towards a safe and secure nationwide system of interoperable health IT, why smart contracts are the asset, defining a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) with blockchain in the healthcare industry, among others.

The premier event will witness attendees including blockchain and healthcare experts, innovators and leaders including Micah Windelspecht, Founder & CEO of Gem; Abbie Barbir, Sr. Security Advisor at Aetna; Steven Posnack, Director of Office of Standards & Technology at HHS, ONC; Kenneth Bradberry, CPHIMS, CTO at Xerox Commercial Healthcare; among others.

The registrations are open for attendees who wish to participate in the event. The HIMSS Annual Conference & Exhibition will take place from 19 to 23 February 2017 at Orlando and will see over 40,000 health IT professionals, clinicians, executives and vendors from around the world.
