The previous chapter ended by drawing all attention to Nekoma High’s mystery setter named Tamahiko Teshiro. With that, it is very likely that more background story about the first-year setter will be explored in “Haikyuu!!” chapter 317.
The score was tied at 24-24 before chapter 316 ended. But Nekoma High’s coach, Yasufumi Nekomata, thought it would be the right time to bring in Tamahiko despite the tight game that will be continued in “Haikyuu!!” chapter 317. It can be recalled that even the first year setter was not fully convinced he is ready to join his team on the court. But their coach decided to send him in and substitute Lev anyway.
This move stirred a lot of curiosity among fans. This is not the first time Tamahiko appeared in the manga. But “Haikyuu!!” chapter 317 is going to be the first real on-court action he will have. And with a game score this close, fans can only speculate that maybe Nekoma believes Tamahiko can pull off some moves that will earn them the set win.
It is also important to note that Tamahiko was sent in to replace Lev in the rotation. Avid fans of the series know that Lev is regarded as one of the ace players of Nekoma High, thanks to his towering height. This fact just makes Tamahiko’s introduction more exciting in “Haikyuu!!” chapter 317.
Speaking of Lev, he has once again proven that he is a worthy opponent in their current game against the Karasuno High. Chapter 316 made it obvious that the main protagonist Shoyo Hinata needs to work on enhancing his blocking skills to match Lev’s blocking and attack prowess. And this just makes the continuing rivalry even more worthy to look forward to in “Haikyuu!!” chapter 317.
Hinata’s current situation also presents the possibility that he will undergo some training focused on his blocking moves in “Haikyuu!!” chapter 317. And reports suggest that Karasuno’s middle blocker, Kei Tsukishima, could be the perfect teammate to help Hinata with this one.
The manga series returns with Tamahiko up on the serving line with the score tied at 24-24. “Haikyuu!!” chapter 317 will be officially released on Sept. 10.
