Lot of economic dockets and events scheduled for today, some with high risks associated..

Data released so far -

  • Australia - Trade balance deteriorated in August to -3.095 billion, exports grew 0%, while imports grew 1%. RBA kept interest rates on hold.
  • Germany - Factory orders are down -1.8% in August from July.
  • UK - Halifax house prices dropped -0.9% in September from August, still up 8.6% compared to a year ago.

Upcoming -  

  • Switzerland - Consumer price index to be released at 7:15 GMT.
  • US - Trade balance for August to be released at 12:30 GMT, followed by Redbook index 12:55 GMT and TIPP economic optimism at 14:00 GMT. FOMC member William is to speak at 21:30 GMT.
  • Canada - Trade balance for August to be released at 12:30 GMT, followed by IVEY PMI at 14:00 GMT.
  • Euro Zone - ECB president Draghi is scheduled to speak today. Euro group finance ministers are meeting today.
  • New Zealand - Global dairy auction is scheduled today.
  • UK - BRC shop price index for September to be released at 23:00 GMT.
  • Australia - AIG performance of construction index to be released at 23:30 GMT.
  • Auctions - US will auction 1 month bills at 15:30 GMT and 3 year note at 17:00 GMT.
