Guide to today’s important data and events

Lot of economic dockets scheduled for today and some with high risks associated

Data released so far 

  • Australia - Home loans rose by 2.6% and investment lending up by 0.6% in December.
  • Germany - Whole sale price index dropped -0.4% in January, down -1% from a year ago. Consumer price index down -0.8% in January, up 0.5% from a year ago. GDP rose by 0.3% in fourth quarter, up 2.1% from a year ago.

Upcoming 

  • France - Nonfarm payrolls for fourth quarter will be released at 7:45 GMT.
     
  • Spain - HICP inflation data will be released at 8:00 GMT.
     
  • Italy - GDP figure will be released at 9:00 GMT.
     
  • Euro Zone - GDP figure will be released at 9:00 GMT. Industrial production for December will be released at 10:00 GMT.
     
  • Greece - Greece will release GDP number at 10:00 GMT.
     
  • Portugal - Will also announce GDP number today.
     
  • India - RBI would announce FX reserve at 11:30 GMT. Manufacturing and Industrial output will also be released at 12:00 GMT.
     
  • US - Retail sales for January will be released at 13:30 GMT along with terms of trade. Michigan consumer sentiment will be released at 15:00 GMT. FED's Dudley is scheduled to speak at 15:00 GMT.
