Lot of economic dockets be released today. Focus is on FOMC.

Data released so far -

  • Australia - RBA trimmed mean CPI rose by 0.6% in fourth quarter, up 2.1% from a year ago.

Upcoming -  

  • Germany - GFK consumer confidence to be released at 7:00 GMT.
  • UK - Nationwide house price index for January to be released at 7:00 GMT. BBA mortgage approvals to be released at 9:30 GMT.
  • Switzerland - UBS consumption indicator to be released at 7:00 GMT.
  • France - Consumer confidence to be released at 7:45 GMT.
  • China - Conference board leading economic index may get released today.
  • Italy - Consumer and business confidence will be released at 9:00 GMT.
  • US - MBA mortgage applications to be released at 12:00 GMT, followed by new home sales at 15:00 GMT. FOMC would announce monetary policy decision at 19:00 GMT. EIA will release weekly crude oil inventory report at 15:30 GMT.
  • New Zealand - RBNZ will announce monetary policy decision at 20:00 GMT, followed by December trade balance at 21:45 GMT.
  • Japan - Retail trade data will be released at 23:50 GMT.
  • Auctions - Germany will auction 30 year bond. US will auction 5 year bond at 18:00 GMT.
