Fans would be happy to hear that “Good Doctor” season 4 is finally coming back after a long wait. It is expected to return with a heavy dose of silver lining following the devastating earthquake that concluded the third season.

The last two parts of “Good Doctor” season 3 showed the massive effects of the earthquake in San Jose. St. Bonaventure also lost some doctors like Dr. Melendez (Nicholas Gonzales) who died during the quake while Dr. Park (Yun Lee) relocated to Phoenix.

Dr. Reznick is also likely to leave permanently due to his rheumatoid arthritis that can hinder his ability to treat the patients. In any case, there are many exciting things to expect from “Good Doctor” season 4 and below are some spoilers.

The COVID-19 coverage

It was revealed by showrunner David Shore that they will touch on the topic of the coronavirus pandemic. The show will premiere with the first two episodes tackling the COVID-19 that is affecting the whole world right now.

He said that doctors and people in the medical field worldwide are taking serious personal risks every single day they go to work and they will show how tough it is for them in the episode called “Frontline.”

“To be a medical show in 2020 and have the worst pandemic in a century hitting us, it only seems right that we would address it in some way,” executive producer Daniel Dae Kim further told Deadline. “I think everyone is looking at our front line workers and seeing them in a whole new light, and that’s something that can only help our show. Because that’s in line with how we see our cast - as heroes.”

Dr. Shaun’s love life and expanded role in St. Bonaventure Hospital

The “Good Doctor” season 4 will also feature Dr. Shaun Murphy’s (Freddie Highmore) love life. He is an extraordinary doctor but his autism makes him brighter and a really amazing medical practitioner. This season, his personal life will be covered and it is likely about the love lines he had with his neighbor Lea Dilallo.

Also, Dr. Shaun will have a bigger role in St. Bonaventure as he now also has to teach the rookie residents. He has more experienced as a doctor now so teaching the next generation is now part of his job.

New cast member and airdate

The show will be welcoming aa new cast addition and he is Noah Galvin. He will be one of the four first-year newbie residents that Dr. Shaun will mentor. Finally, “The Good Doctor” season 4 will premiere on Nov. 2, Monday at 10 p.m. on ABC.
