Here are some key events to keep a tab on,

  • Russian election: Russian President Vladimir Putin won the Presidential election in a decisive manner for another six-year term, According to latest reports, Putin won almost 76 percent of the votes. With this win, Putin is set to Govern Russia for another six-year term until 2024, which would mark his 25 years as the ruler of Russia (including both official and unofficial).

  • Italian election: Political conversations began between Lega and the Five Star Movement, which initially said that they would not join other parties in forming a coalition. If the talks succeed, Italy would see its first Euro-skeptic government in power since it joined the euro.
     
  • Korean Peninsula: Preparations have begun for a summit between the U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korea’s Supreme leader Kim Jong-un. According to reports, Sweden could be the likely venue for the talks.
     
  • Israel-Palestine peace process: Israeli Air Force (IAF) jets struck a number of targets in the Gaza Strip on Saturday night in response to an explosive device that went off near the security fence. The Israeli army has also raided the Palestinian village of Bartaa, arresting the brother of a man who has been accused of carrying out a car-ramming attack that killed two Israeli soldiers.
