Data released so far:

  • Japan: Markit services PMI rose to 51.5 in August, up from 51.3 prior.
     
  • Australia: GDP grew by 3.4 percent y/y in the second quarter.
     
  • China: Services PMI weakens to 51.5 in August from 52.8 prior.
     
  • Spain: Services PMI rose to 52.7 in August from 52.6 prior.
     
  • Italy: Services PMI declined to 52.6 in August from 54 prior.
     
  • France: Services PMI declined to 55.4 in August from 55.7 prior.
     
  • Germany: Services PMI declined to 55 in August from 55.2 prior.
     
  • Eurozone: Services PMI unchanged at 54.4 in August. Retail sales grew by 1.1 percent y/y in July, down from 1.5 percent in June.
     
  • United Kingdom: Services PMI rose to 54.3 in August from 53.5 prior.

Upcoming:

  • United States: MBA mortgage applications report will be released at 11:00 GMT, followed by July trade balance report at 12:30 GMT, and ISM New York report at 13:45 GMT. FOMC member Williams is set for a speech at 19:00 GMT, Kashkari at 20:00 GMT, and Bostic at 22:30 GMT.
     
  • Canada: Q2 labor productivity report will be published at 12:30 GMT, along with the July trade balance report. BoC will announce rate decision at 14:00 GMT.
