FxWirePro: New Zealand dollar might decline another 200 pips

After failing to clear resistance around 0.74 area, the kiwi has declined from 0.737 against the dollar in January to 0.692 as of today. The kiwi is higher today after declining for 7 consecutive days. It is testing key resistance around 0.69 area, and we suspect that the kiwi dollar could decline further by 200 pips and test another more important resistance around 0.67 area.

The latest comments from the Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) on the strength of the kiwi is weighing on it along with the current strength of the dollar, which is fuelled by expectations of faster rate hikes from the US Federal Reserve. The recent weakness in commodities price has also been weighing on the kiwi.

For NZD/USD, the resistance lies around 0.723 area and support lies around 0.69 and 0.67 area.
