Fundamentals to watch out for this week

This week isn’t as risk heavy as the previous one but Friday’s NFP report may turn out as major market mover.

What to watch for over the coming days

  • U.S. Earnings

Once again U.S. earnings will dominate the moves in U.S. benchmark stock index S&P 500. About 120 companies in S&P 500 will be reporting earnings this week, which include Halliburton, Pfizer, Motorola etc.

  • RBA interest rate decision

Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) is not expected to tweak the policy on Tuesday, nevertheless focus will be on the wordings of the statement.

  • Berkshire meeting

Annual investors gathering in Omaha is one of the biggest event, when thousands around the world, trip to Omaha to hear out legendary Warren Buffet, in Berkshire’s annual shareholder meetings. Mr. Buffet’s comments will be closely scrutinized by investment community to benefit from his wisdom.

  • Japanese PM Abe’s tour of Europe

This week, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has set off on a journey in six countries, Italy, France, Germany, UK, Belgium and Russia. A range of issues from economic and politics are to be discussed. One focus will be, whether Abe discuss Yen’s strength or not.

  • U.S. Jobs report

This is this week’s mega event as U.S. releases April jobs report, focus will be on earnings growth.
