Fundamentals to watch out for this week

In terms of volatility risks, this week is light with the focus on the aftermath of elections in Indonesia, India, and the European Union,

What to watch for over the coming days:

Central Banks:

  • Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) will release the financial stability report on Tuesday, which would follow Governor Orr’s speech.
  • Bank of Canada (BoC) will announce rate decision at 14:00 GMT.

Economic data:

  • Q1 flash GDP report will be released on Thursday. 
  • Japan will release the unemployment report on Thursday, along with CPI inflation, industrial production, and retail trade report.

Geopolitics:

  • U.S. President Donald Trump to visit Japan is on a visit to Japan.
  • European Union’s foreign affairs council to hold a meeting on 27th May, Tuesday.
