‘Frozen 2’ Release Date, Spoilers: Will Elsa Really Turned Out to be a Lesbian in the Movie? Other Theories Dropped by Fans

Fans are looking forward to “Frozen 2” as they would like to know what will happen next to Elsa after she has finally acknowledged her “frosty” powers. Both kids and adults loved the original film since it was a kid-friendly movie with a fairytale-like concept. But now, it was reported that kids might not be able to see the second movie installment as it will be rated PG this time.

According to Forbes, “Frozen 2” will feature more mature content, so the movie regulation board is likely to give it a PG-13 rating. Although what the “mature content” is about was not mentioned, it was assumed that it has something to do with the rumor that the film will show Elsa’s awakening as it turned out that she is a lesbian.

The lesbian theory actually emerged last year when some fans suggested that “Frozen 2” may highlight a lesbian relationship as they suspected that Elsa is not straight and she may reveal her true colors in the sequel. The hashtag #GievElsaAGrilfriend also trended at that time, so many were convinced that the lady singing “Let It Go” in the first movie has lesbian tendencies and will be revealed in the upcoming sequel.

The Guardian reported that “Frozen 2” director Jennifer Lee also said “we’ll see where we go” when asked whether Elsa will have a female love interest and this response further fueled the rumors about her sexuality. Now, as the movie is soon to be released, the lesbian theory had apparently escalated when a Brazilian minister openly said that the movie would be a bad influence on kids.

Damares Alves, a Brazilian human rights minister, reportedly told the crowd during a Christian event that Elsa in “Frozen 2” is a lesbian who will turn children to gays. She explained that Elsa lived in the castle alone because she is someone who dreams of marrying a “princess charming,” The Daily Mail reported.

But then again, the lesbian assumption is just one of the unconfirmed rumors. The rest of the theories involved the plot of “Frozen 2.” There were speculations that Elsa and Anna will have their own powers that represent the seasons and they will face enemies that possess abilities drawn from the rest of the seasons like summer and spring.

Other guesses for “Frozen 2” plot is that Elsa and Anna’s parents are alive and the sisters are out to rescue them. Or perhaps, they are dead already, and the two will solve the mystery of their deaths, which seems to suggest that someone killed them on purpose.

In any case, “Frozen 2” is arriving in theaters on Nov. 22 in the U.S., and the U.K. World premiere date will be announced later.
