Frech football club "Paris Saint-Germain" announces its own digital asset amid crypto-fray

As the technology industry evolves, we witnessed application of technologies in various walks of our lives. What’s buzzing around crypto-universe when it comes to sports and technology? In the recent trends, it’s been noticed that both sports and technology are complimenting each other segment. 

While the pioneer cryptocurrency, ‘Bitcoin’ and other majors have struggled to exhibit revival in its volume and bullish momentum, as it fell below the $6k mark, a level which the dominant cryptocurrency managed to sustain for several times in the recent past. The bearish rout throughout 2018 might have subdued investors’ interest in the cryptocurrency industry, that seems momentary. 

However, this has not clogged the reputed ones from the gamut of sport flirting with the technology. 

Well, the latest team to get involved with digital assets in some capacity is top division French football team Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

The celebrity club intends to unveil its own digital asset during spring of 2019. The fans are enabled by the tokens to vote on “cosmetic” decisions of the club, such as, music played in the stadium, the colour of the team’s away shirts, and awards for stand out performances from the players, amongst others, as per a post by the Malta Blockchain Summit.

PSG, which is homeland for celebrity players, like Brazilian star Neymar, who’s optimistic to encourage fans across the globe. While the club has reported a multi-year association recently with Malta-based blockchain start-up ‘Socios’. The associateship would reportedly manage the innovation for the so-called Fan Token Offerings.

Last year, BTC journey from $735.3 to a whopping $19,891. (at BITFINEX exchange), or 2,605% surge was commendable and tumbled from alltime highs to the recent lows of $5,700 mark. However, on the contrary, the Bitcoin and bears in other peers have held steady from the last couple of months’ trading sessions.
