Fintech Business Awards announces 2017 winners

The Fintech Business Awards that recognizes outstanding innovation and entrepreneurship in the Australian fintech sector, has announced the winners of 2017 that includes leading individuals and companies in fintech ecosystem.

The winners were recognized during an event at the Ivy Ballroom in Sydney that saw over 350 fintech industry stakeholders. The Fintech Business Excellence Award for the individual category was awarded to Daniel Foggo, chief executive of RateSetter Australia, after receiving highest points among the winners in individual award categories from expert judge panel.

“Over 300 nominations were received for the 18 awards, with the winners selected by a panel of expert judges from a pool of 125 finalists, indicating the strength of Australia’s fintech sector,” Aleks Vickovich, Fintech Business managing editor, stated. “We congratulate all the finalists and winners, and thank our judging panel and event partners ASX, Avaloq, Spike and Momentum Intelligence.”

Midwinter Financial Services that has developed a range of cutting edge financial planning software packages, has been recognized for the Fintech Business Excellence Award for company category, having been awarded the highest points of all winners.

Other awards in the fintech category include Fintech Mentor of the Year that was awarded to Claire Wivell Plater from The Fold Legal and Fintech Start-Up of the Year given to Valiant Finance. Apart from this, Crowdfunding Innovator of the Year, Insurance Innovator of the Year, Payments Innovator of the Year, Investment Innovator of the Year, among other awards were also recognized.
