‘Fear the Walking Dead’ is set to air its seventh episode for season two on May 22, 2016. Teaser trailers released teased Ofelia Salazar’s impending death from an acute zombie infection. It was speculated that she may be the first of the main survivors to succumb to the outbreak.

In a teaser video posted on Melty, Daniel and Ofelia are seen running through the village after being awakened by gunfire in the middle of the night. As they are fleeing the halls, Ofelia pulls back and pleads for her father to stop. When confronted by Daniel, Ofelia looks in awful shape and asks how terribly she seems.

The scene cuts to Ofelia tearing a large piece of skin off her face as her father looks on in horror. It remains unconfirmed whether the footage is from a possible harmless dream sequence. However, it was speculated that Mercedes Mason’s Ofelia Salazar is bound to meet her end in the upcoming episode.

Episode 6, entitled “Sicut Cervus”, ended with confounding mass deaths following the arrival of the group to Mexico. Although it reportedly got off on a rather slow start, the episode managed to pull in a total of 2.61 million viewers since the second season’s premiere. According to 1428 Elm, the companion series to AMC’s highly popular ‘The Walking Dead’ ultimately saw an ascending pull in viewer ratings.

Although ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ struggles with fluctuating numbers, it earned the top spot over HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’ for the night. It reportedly recorded a 1.4 growth in its 18-49 viewer demographic.

‘Fear the Walking Dead’ is an American horror-drama television series intended as a “companion series” to ‘The Walking Dead’. It was created by Robert Kirkman and David Erickson, with the first season aired in 2015.

The series follows a dysfunctional group who must survive together following a zombie outbreak. It stars Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Frank Dillane, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Elizabeth Rodriguez, and Mercedes Mason.
