The consumer confidence indicator of euro area rose for the third consecutive month in October, according to the European Commission’s data. The preliminary data showed that the flash consumer confidence index rose from September’s -1.2 to -1 in October. This is the highest level since April 2001.
The October print came in above the consensus expectations of the indicator rising to -1.1 points.
Meanwhile, the consumer confidence indicator for the European Union remained the same at -1.6 in October. The print was the highest since April 2001.
