SAN FRANCISCO, April 17, 2018 -- Endgame, the leader in unified endpoint protection against targeted attacks, today announced it has received a “recommended” rating in an Advanced Endpoint Protection (AEP) test from NSS Labs. The AEP test is the most comprehensive public measurement of endpoint protection and includes all antivirus (AV) and next-gen AV providers. Endgame achieved a 95.5% security effectiveness score with zero false positives and zero observable evasions and was also recommended for its low total cost of ownership.
Products that map into the upper-right section of the NSS Labs Security Value Map (SVM) score well for both Security Effectiveness and TCO per Protected Agent. These products provide a high level of detection and value for money and are therefore Recommended.
Breaches in 2017 reached an average of $3.6 million. By blocking attacks and delivering a low total cost of ownership, Endgame has demonstrated its value to customers through these test results.
“We applaud Endgame for their commitment to third-party testing,” said Vikram Phatak, CEO at NSS Labs. “Endgame’s Recommended rating in this year’s AEP Group Test makes them a great option for enterprises seeking an endpoint product to defend against today’s new threats.”
“We are honored that NSS Labs identified Endgame as a product to protect against any threat -- regardless of the infection vector or method of obfuscation,” said Jamie Butler, CTO at Endgame. “As targeted attacks become more pervasive, it’s critical that we establish objective testing methodologies that enable enterprises to make transparent buying decisions based on efficacy of solutions. This test further proves that our unique and patented innovations set a new standard for endpoint protection against modern threats.”
The testing aimed to verify that the advanced endpoint product is capable of detecting, preventing, and continuously logging threats accurately prior to, during, and after execution while remaining resistant to false positives. AEP products were tested for how effectively a product can protect against a threat, regardless of the infection vector or method of obfuscation. The term “threat” is used within the NSS Labs test report to refer to malware, exploits, or blended threats that are able to successfully access, download, and execute on a target system, with or without subsequent post-infection compromise and/or outbound communication attempts.
