ETA hosts FinTech Policy Forum to discuss on safe, reliable and secure payments technology

The Electronic Transactions Association (ETA), a leading trade association for the payments industry, announced that it will host inaugural FinTech Policy Forum on Capitol Hill.

According to the official release, the fintech forum will take place today and will see attendees including industry leaders, federal and state regulators, and Members of Congress. The forum will discuss on how payments technology and public policy can coincide in order to provide safe, reliable, and rewarding financial services to customers.

"Having a voice in politics is crucial for businesses of all sizes. At a time of unprecedented change in the payments industry, including mobile payments and other new technologies, ETA's government relations efforts are enormously important to advance our industry,” Scott Talbott, ETA Senior Vice President of Government Affairs said.

The ETA Fintech Policy Forum will have potential speakers including Congressman Patrick McHenry (R-NC), Terrell McSweeny, Commissioner, Federal Trade Commission, Adrienne Harris, Special Assistant to the President for Economic Policy, National Economic Council, the White House, and Dan Quan, Senior Advisor to the Director, U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

The ETA member executives will give policy makers with their perspectives on how the industry will drive economic growth. The possible discussion topics will include issues like payments technology, online small business lending, and prepaid products.

The policy forum follows the Payments Fly-In on Capitol Hill. Earlier this month, ETA announced TRANSACT Tech, a one-day fintech event that was held in Boston on 13th September 2016.
