Digital Currency Group CEO To Speak At OTC Markets Group's Capital Raising 2.0 Mini-Conference

OTC Markets Group Inc.'s inaugural Capital Raising 2.0 mini-conference will be taking place on April 6, from 4:30-7:00 p.m. at the OTCQX Market Center in New York City. 

Barry Silbert, Founder and CEO of the Digital Currency Group and Founder of SecondMarket, will be the featured speaker at the conference. He is expected to speak on the rise of digital currency and blockchain technology.

Silbert will be interviewed by R. Cromwell Coulson, OTC Markets Group President and CEO, as he discusses how his investment vehicle, Bitcoin Investment Trust, raised capital and went public on the OTCQX Best Market.  Bitcoin Investment Trust began trading on OTCQX on March 26, 2015. 

The event will include discussions about how the capital markets have evolved along with alternative strategies for raising capital and going public under the Jumpstart Our Business Startups (JOBS) Act. 

In addition, the conference will include a panel discussion featuring crowdfunding experts, including BANQ, FundAmerica, HealthiosXchange,Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP, OfferBoard and SeedInvest as they discuss strategies for raising capital under the JOBS Act. 

Topics to be covered will include:

  • Crowdfunding via Regulation D, Rule 506(c); JOBS Act Title IV, Regulation A+; and JOBS Act Title III, Regulation Crowdfunding
  • "Testing the waters" – how companies can market their offering
  • Introductions to online crowdfunding portals and "digital investment banking"
  • How SEC reporting companies can leverage online portals to raise capital
  • Secondary trading and liquidity.

The event is open to small private and publicly-traded companies, attorneys, advisors, investment banks, crowdfunding portals, investors and others interested in learning more about the JOBS Act ecosystem.
