“Chicago Fire” season 7 will not begin in the next couple of months but showrunner Derek Haas has already shared some interesting spoilers. Haas confirmed that “major changes” are about to happen in Firehouse 51.
Fans would also be delighted to know that these “major changes” will be shown in the earlier parts of “Chicago Fire” season 7. While Haas reiterated that he hates the spread of spoilers, he accommodated a fan’s question on Twitter and said in his first reply, “Well, you know I hate spoilers. But I am going to tell you that there will be major changes coming to firehouse 51 in the first half of the season.”
Haas went on a mini ask-me-anything session on Twitter on the same day. The series showrunner also confirmed on social media that they are set to start filming “Chicago Fire” season 7 “in the middle of this month.” And if everything goes according to plan, fans are likely to see the first official trailer before August ends or in early September.
In the same series of tweets, Haas also shared that his favorite spot in Chicago is definitely the Firehouse 18 station. He revealed that it is “where [they] shoot our apparatus floor and outside of the firehouse,” which is likely going to be the same case for the filming of “Chicago Fire” season 7. Haas also encouraged fans to visit the place and support the local firefighters by purchasing their t-shirt merchandise.
Speaking of changes, there is at least one confirmed major event to happen in “Chicago Fire” season 7, and that’s the exit of Monica Raymund from the show. The actress plays the role of the paramedic and firefighter Gabby Dawson.
Raymund confirmed the news in May. She shared a handwritten note on Twitter to announce her exit ahead of “Chicago Fire” season, 7 saying, "I am so thankful for the journey and especially to all of you for watching, but I have made the decision that it's time for me to move on to the next chapter in life. … I'll always be proud to have played a fierce paramedic with such an incredible cast and crew. On to the next! See you on the ice."
“Chicago Fire” season 7 is set to premiere on Sept. 26, a Wednesday, on NBC. On the same date, other Chicago-based series, namely “Chicago P.D.” and “Chicago Med,” will also premiere on the network.
