'Castle' Season 8 Episode 14 Recap: What happened to Castle?

So what really happened to Rick on the four months that he has gone missing? And what happened to his memories that got mysteriously erased? Let us all find out here as we have a recap of last night’s episode 14 titled “G.D.S.”

As it turned out, Rick’s disappearance — which famously began just prior to his wedding — was in part explained as being due to an old prep school pal, Bilal Khan, breaking away from Al-Qaeda to turn himself over to U.S. intelligence. Bilal had demanded to surrender himself to trusted classmate-turned-high profile author Rick Castle, whose presence in Thailand was thus needed ASAP. After stepping in (and in doing so thwarting a terrorist attack), Castle’s memories were eventually “erased,” leaving him unable to account for his absence when he was found months later, adrift on a boat.

He has been so close to finding out sensitive information about the connection between Senator Bracken and a partner dubbed as “LokSat” that he has decided to erase that part of information on his brain to protect Kate. He was able to find that about himself out as he kept on badgering Hayley.

Hayley suggests that Rick let go of the issue, not knowing what “hell you might unleash,” and he agrees. But almost immediately he changes his mind and budges Hayley once again. She has no choice but point to him a safe to unlock. And when he does, he is presented with a video of himself explaining what happened.

Now that he has the information he needs, he is set to help Beckette solve this problem by checking the airport flights the night Castle videotaped himself.

On the other hand, Castle has a seat waiting for him at the prestige Greatest Detectives Society, given that he can outwit guest star Summer Glau, who plays Kendall in the show. In the end, he turns down the offer and with a romantic twist for every Caskett fans to enjoy with by saying, “I already work with the greatest detective in the world.”
