Buzzbike, Blockpool partner to offer blockchain reward scheme for advertising

London-based connected cycle scheme Buzzbike has partnered with Blockpool, a startup that delivers real world B2B blockchain solutions, in order to provide blockchain reward scheme for engagement.

According to reports by a London news media, the partners have utilized blockchain technology for demonstrating and showcasing the way cryptocurrency can be used to offer brand engagement as well as aid brands to target advertising.

“We’re delighted to be working with Blockpool on this exciting project. Bikes present a really interesting and creative platform for engagement, and through integrating blockchain technology we’re able to provide our cyclists with unique and easily accessible revenue schemes,” Tom Hares, CEO and co-founder of Buzzbike, commented.

By integrating blockchain technology by geo-location elements of the Buzzbike app, Bockpool enables brands to incentivize riders to travel to specific areas at specific times with crypto-coins. The app logs the rewards and incentives for actions, and riders can check on coins earned. The blockchain works along custom APIs and facilitates mobile app and wallet connectivity.

“The geo-location app and beacons on the bikes allow us to leverage data for brands and users. In the simplest sense you can imagine say a film premiere at a cinema. The brand can identify a reward zone around the cinema, and reward riders carrying their branding for journeys within a set radius around the target location. The brand receives targeted exposure and detailed analytics, and riders instant rewards,” David Blundell, co-founder of Blockpool explained. “Our integration with Buzzbike demonstrates the value that can be delivered from applications of blockchain in marketing and advertising.”

Buzzbike provides its members a single speed bike, rider pack and rewards such as coffee and gig tickets. It is powered by an app that connects to the bike and tracks journey and works with brand partners and organizations to subsidise the cost for the rider by offering fully integrated sponsorships of the scheme.
