The Bank of Korea Business Survey Index on business conditions in the manufacturing sector dropped marginally in May from April. The index fell one point to 82. However, the index for the outlook remained the same at 84. After seasonal adjustment, the BSI for May rose one point to 78, while for the outlook it rose by 3 points to 82.
In the non-manufacturing sector, the BSI on business conditions rose one point to 79 in May from April, whereas for the outlook, the index was up 2 points to 80. Seasonally adjusted, the BSI rose one point in May to 76. The index for outlook was also up by 3 points to 77. The in the meantime, the Economic Sentiment Index came in at 98.6, rising 1 point from April’s figure.
