Blockchain platform Waves to release main net client on Thursday

Blockchain tokens platform WAVES  has announced that it is going to launch its main net client today, allowing users to generate addresses to withdraw their tokens.

Earlier in April, WAVES announced the release of the testnet software, inviting users to participate in the development process by downloading the first iteration of the client and giving feedback to the team. The lite client for the testnet was launched on Wednesday and the main net client will be rolled out today.

“Our ICO is over and now it’s time to proceed with the network launch. As you probably have already noticed we’re always trying to move fast. But at the same time we need to make sure that everything works properly, which is especially important for decentralized p2p networks such as blockchain systems. We need to be certain that the network is stable and we accounted for all the future developments”, CEO Sasha Ivanov said.

It further said that it will start processing withdrawals on Friday. Waves expects most people to have their coins withdrawn by next week and will be focusing more on full node development and launch at exchanges.

Waves raised nearly $16 million with its Initial Coin Offering (ICO) which ended on May 31 and is one of the most successful crowdfunding drives. Last month, it partnered with bitcoin wallet provider Mycelium, to allow users to send fiat money tokens through their smartphone app.
