Blockchain app platform Lisk launches Lisk Nano

Lisk, a decentralized blockchain application development platform, has announced the launch of Lisk Nano – a simple, lightweight and fully responsive client software that enables users to access the basic functionalities of the platform on-the-go.

Developed by Lisk Tools Developer Ricardo Ferro, Lisk Nano allows users to:

  • Create a Lisk account

  • Access a Lisk account

  • Send & receive LSK

  • View incoming & outgoing transactions

As the Lisk team continues to work on creating an easy to use, fully-featured client for Windows and macOS platforms, Lisk Nano offers a temporary alternative for the users to access the most basic features of the decentralized blockchain application platform. Unlike the full-fledged client, Lisk Nano doesn’t require synchronization with the Lisk blockchain or network. Instead, the client establishes a direct connection with one of the trusted official Lisk nodes.

“As we progress, we would like to add nodes maintained by reputable and trusted community members, or possibly switch to a completely decentralized network-wide node selection”,  Lisk CTO Oliver Beddows said.

The current version, Lisk Nano 0.1.0 is compatible with all the leading computer operating systems viz., Windows, macOS, and Linux. However, it is beta software with room for improvement and can be downloaded here.

Launched on May 24, Lisk is a blockchain application platform that offers JavaScript development tools to deploy sidechains and build decentralized applications on top of them. According to recent estimates from CoinMarketCap, LSK is the tenth most valued cryptocurrency with a market cap around $31 million.
