Our reiteration continues as the lucrative panoramas among the Blockchain/FinTech space has led the mounting interests everywhere across all industries, including reputed institutions from Big 4 auditing firms to the central banks of advanced economies and from banking, hospitality and defense forces have been investing in the R&D projects of blockchain.
For now, the US Air Force (USAF) has entered into a pact with ‘Fluree’ a blockchain data management company.
Blockchain data management startup, ‘Fluree’ has announced in a press release, that it has bagged a contract from the United States Air Force (USAF) to bring commercial best-in-class technologies to the Air Force and U.S. Department of Defense (DoD).
The contract is executed between USAF and Fluree with an objective to securely and swiftly share information with other departments in the military. As part of the Small Business Innovation Research AFWERX technology innovation program, Fluree’s data management platform was selected to provide the USAF with secure, worldwide command-and-control communications using an encrypted, distributed, blockchain-backed graph database shared between partners.
“Fluree is uniquely suited to provide a distributed communication network that supports the interoperability and scalability requirements of both legacy and evolving government systems,” said Brian Platz, co-CEO of Fluree. “The Fluree solution leverages a blockchain architecture for security while supporting the storage of large data volumes following FAIR data principles in the integrated graph database. We’re excited about the opportunity to provide U.S. Air Force customers with an enterprise-grade data management platform.”
Elsewhere, the U.S. Navy’s research arm, ‘the Naval Air Warfare Center’, has joined hands with a blockchain software startup, ‘Simba Chain’ for a secured messaging system.
In a press release, Simba Chain has also announced, that it has been awarded a five-year Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase III contract (N68335-20-F-0012) from the Naval Air Warfare Center in San Diego, Cal., to deploy a secure, blockchain-based messaging and transaction platform, a critical need of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). The $9.5 million award is the first and one of the largest SBIR Phase III for blockchain.
