‘Bates Motel’ Season 5, Episode 6 Spoilers: “Marion” Focuses on Rihanna’s Iconic ‘Psycho’ Character; Dylan Discovers Norma’s Death

‘Bates Motel’ season 5’s episode 6, titled “Marion,” is set to focus on Rihanna’s iconic ‘Psycho’ character Marion Crane. Meanwhile, Dylan will discover Norma’s death and will confront Norman about it.

The short synopsis for episode 6 posted on TV Guide reads, “Norman (Freddie Highmore) checks in a special guest at the motel; Dylan (Max Thieriot) grapples with devastating news; and Sam (Austin Nichols) and Madeleine (Isabelle McNaly) face a crossroads in their marriage.”

According to International Business Times, Dylan is about to face the news of Norma’s death. The promo for “Marion” teases the imminent confrontation between Dylan and his half-brother Norman. A clearly distressed Dylan confronts Norman on the phone saying, “Why didn’t you tell me that mom died? She was my mother too. None of this makes any sense!”

Norman’s issues heighten when a woman checks in at his motel. The show will finally put focus on singer-songwriter Rihanna, who plays the iconic ‘Psycho’ character Marion Crane made famous by Janet Leigh in the 1960s. The show’s storyline brought in Marion in episode 5, titled "Dreams Die First."

According to Refinery29, Rihanna even had stand-in for the role for some scenes. Executive producer Carlton Cuse admitted that Rihanna needed a body double saying, "She was unbelievable and so committed… But there were certain shots and a couple of little pieces that we couldn’t physically schedule with her."

Cuse continued, “We decided that if she was going to be on the show we wanted to give her a real part… And she showed up and she worked like a dog for a week."

‘Bates Motel’ season 5’s episode 6, titled “Marion,” is scheduled to air on A&E on March 27, 2017. It will be followed by episode 7, titled "Inseparable," directed by Steph Green and written by Freddie Highmore. It is scheduled to be released on April 3.
