BNY Mellon, a leading investment management and investment services company, has set up a new team to explore emerging technologies including blockchain.
Called Emerging Business & Technology (EBT) team, its current focus is the investigation of blockchain technology impact, but will in the future encompass other emerging technologies like AI, IoT and robotics, BNY Mellon said.
“EBT has a global cross-functional mandate to investigate business disruptive emerging technologies, define appropriate strategies to maximise on presented opportunities whilst mitigating threats, and execute those strategies using a franchise network”, it added.
"The network is made up of innovation teams within lines of business as well as governance committees, communities of interest, sponsors, SMEs and champions across the bank, as well as client and other external partners”.
The bank is now looking for an Operations Manager role to oversee ongoing business operations within EBT. The Operations Manager will report into Global Head of EBT, assist the Head with managing the EBT team comprised of business analysts and developers, interface with bank's governance committees, communities of interest, project sponsors, franchise teams, SMEs and Champions, as well as clients and other external stakeholders.
