Apple released iOS 9 for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch on September 16. Although the software update went smoothly for most users some users faced installation problems. There were also reports that the new operating system is locking up users’ iPhones, iPads and iPod touches when users were asked to ‘Slide to Upgrade’.
In order to tackle the problem, the Cupertino company quickly released a minor software update, iOS 9.0.1, which has bug fixes like:
- Fixes an issue where some users could not complete setup assistant after updating
- Fixes an issue where sometimes alarms and timers could fail to play
- Fixes an issue in Safari and Photos where pausing video could cause the paused frame to appear distorted
- Fixes an issue where some users with a custom APN setup via a profile would lose cellular data.
“Today's iOS 9.0.1 release precedes iOS 9.1, which will mark the first significant update to iOS 9. iOS 9.1 includes new emoji and settings for acclimating the "Hey Siri" activation feature to an individual user's voice”, Apple said.
