The fourth-generation Apple TV launched this Monday and customers can now place their order online. The earliest shipment will begin on October 30, Latin Post reported.
According to Apple Website, Apple TV 4 comes in two variants – 32 GB priced at $149 and 68 GB priced at $199. The prices mentioned do not include AppleCare Protection Plan, HDMI-to-HDMI cable and iTunes Gift Card.
"If you plan to use your Apple TV primarily to stream movies, TV shows, and music or to play a few apps and games, you’ll probably be fine with 32GB of storage. If you plan to download and use lots of apps and games, choose the 64GB configuration” – Apple
Coming to the improvements made in the latest TV, the most important one is the new operating system tvOS. Third-party developers can now develop native apps for the Apple TV. Moreover, the App Store on Apple TV will redefine customer experience.
The Apple TV 4 comes with Apple dual-core A8 chip and supports Video Output of 1080p and Audio Output of Dolby Digital 7.1.
The Siri Remote has glass touch surface, dual microphones for Siri, accelerometer and Gyroscope, Bluetooth 4.0 to communicate with Apple TV, IR transmitter, Lightning connector for charging.
While HBO, Showtime, Neflix, Hulu, MLB, NBA, and NHL streaming apps will all be available at launch, more options will be rolled out following the Apple TV's launch, Latin Post added. iTunes movies, TV shows, and Apple Music are available out of the box as well.
