Airbitz Community Manager Discusses Newly Launched SDK And More

Bitcoin startup Airbitz recently launched its SDK, which marked a major step towards its goal of being more than just a mobile app. The company aims to bring secure, decentralized technologies to the masses through simple yet feature rich applications focused on ease of use and ease of security. Its focus is to deliver software, services, and products with an amazing user experience, both visually and functionally, simplifying the advanced technology while still retaining core principles of decentralization and privacy.

Airbitz has also been increasingly making efforts to expand its reach to other countries. Earlier this year, Airbitz announced its expansion to Europe, and in February it partnered with the Dutch exchange Clevercoin to offer Buy/Sell feature in 19 Eurozone countries.

In an email response to EconoTimes, M.K. Lords, Community Manager of Airbitz, spoke about the newly launched SDK, potential use cases and future plans of the company:

1. Congratulations on the launch of your SDK. From what I understand, Airbitz has been working on this for quite some time. Can you tell us more about any major setbacks or difficulties you faced during the development?

We were highly focused on building the best bitcoin mobile app, so much of our attention was focused on that. Our SDK got rolled out just a little bit later than we had anticipated but we think we managed the difficulties well.

2. You said that the SDK will bring a lot of opportunities to developers looking for a cutting edge security solution for their data. Would you like to elaborate? What opportunities or case studies do you envision for the developers?

The SDK can be used for applications that need to secure private keys to data. Some examples we could see it used in would be private messaging apps, healthcare apps where the user controls access to their medical records, cryptocurrency payroll solutions, or any app that needs a way to secure credentials and authenticate users.

3. Apart from Bay Bit Hack, where else can we see Airbitz presence in the future?

We hold a monthly Meetup at our offices and will be speaking at Meetups locally in San Diego and hopefully on the west and east coasts. We're hoping to have a presence at the upcoming Consensus 2016 Conference in NYC.

4. What other announcements or milestones can we expect this year?

We have a new release of the bitcoin app coming out very soon and you'll see the addition of affiliate links for users to get back a little bit of bitcoin for signing up new users, replace-by-fee detection, and an updated artsy theme. We'll also be announcing any organizations that use our SDK and are excited about the possibilities. I can't disclose the names, but we are talking with some big players in the blockchain space about some possible integrations. Follow us on our social media sites for future announcements.
