SingularDTV (S-DTV), a first-of-its-kind blockchain entertainment studio, announced its plans with uPort, key management system built on the Ethereum blockchain, in order to deliver decentralized, self-sovereign identity to SingularDTV ecosystem.
This decentralized identity will play a key role in the new user experience that SingularDTV is creating, which is not possible on the internet due to its centralized networking architecture that fosters a lack of synergy between network and data, the release stated.
"Decentralization offers a completely new paradigm of user experience and functionality that the internet cannot deliver. Identity will play an important role in the SingularDTV ecosystem. It is one of many revolutionary applications we will be integrating into our platform," Zach LeBeau, CEO of SingularDTV said.
The SingularDTV will allow both audience and content producers to control and own their identities. The decentralized digital identity is also uniform throughout Ethereum and users can take their identities with them everywhere. The uPort identities can be accepted by businesses, at the same time users can easily access and curate their identities and build their reputations. The uPort uses standards built in collaboration with leading organizations like Microsoft.
"We are excited to work with the SingularDTV team. They are building an exciting new ecosystem, where uPort can best demonstrate the power of a user-centric reputation based identity system," Rouven Heck, Product Lead of uPort commented.
