The new promo for episode 5 opened with Aladdin flying in with his famous magic carpet as he meets Jasmine in a bejeweled lair. A cloaked Jasmine tells him, “I’m here to hire you, Aladdin,” before she reveals her identity.
The synopsis stated, “Enter a whole new world of magic and adventure. The new episode may explore Aladdin’s origins and how he came to be the savior of Agrabah. According to Blasting News, the flashback scenes will follow Jasmine heeding assistance from Aladdin in order to retrieve a valuable secret weapon that will cut Jafar's hold on the Sultan, thereby rescuing the city from destruction in the process.
Meanwhile, back in Storybrooke, the Evil Queen proceeds in tricking Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) and the Charmings and forces Emma to reveal her secret. Emma then races against time to find out what became of Aladdin and is joined by Regina (Lana Parilla) and the other heroes.
