As the First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump is expected to worry about many things concerning the initiatives and advocacies that her office supports. However, a recent report claims that she is also preoccupied with worrying about the health of her husband and the President of the U.S., Donald Trump.
Shortly after Donald Trump’s inauguration, the so-called Mueller investigation commenced with the goal of determining whether or not the Russian government had interfered with the 2016 U.S. Presidential elections. The proceedings are still ongoing since May 2017 and HollywoodLife reports that it has been a source of so much stress for the POTUS. In effect, Melania is purportedly worried that it may soon affect her husband badly.
While Melania Trump is reportedly worried about the ongoing investigations, the source added that she is not bothered it would cause political demise for her husband. “Melania believes her husband’s claim that he’s being subjected to a ‘witch hunt’ and that there’s no truth to the allegations against him,” the insider added.
On the other hand, Melania also has many other things to take care of as the FLOTUS. Her approval rating reportedly plunged by 11 points, according to a CNN poll released last week that had 1,015 respondents interviewed from Dec. 6-9. Interviewees with favorable opinion make up 43 % of the respondents while those with an unfavorable opinion are up at 36%. In the previous survey (Oct. 4-7) Melania’s approval rating was at 54%.
A few days later, CNN contributor Kate Andersen Brower commented that Melania “doesn’t understand” her job. Brower’s main premise in the write-up is Melania’s interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity. When asked about the hardest part of the job, the first lady said it is being criticized by the media. Brower argued that Melania’s answer shows she is making the job “about herself” considering she has seen drastic events while being the FLOTUS such as meeting with very recent mass shooting survivors.
Brower’s article was answered by no less than Melania Trump’s deputy chief of staff for communications, Stephanie Grisham. “When Brower claims Mrs. Trump has no understanding of what it means to be the first lady, she intentionally ignores all the effort the first lady has put into fulfilling the traditional responsibilities of the role,” Grisham wrote in a response op-ed on Sunday.
