Rumor has it that Apple will begin manufacturing the iPhone SE 4 in October of this year, but SE fans won't see the official release of the device until 2025.
SE 4 Could Feature A18 Power
Luckily, there's good news: this model will be compatible with Apple Intelligence—a collection of generative AI technologies that the firm is planned to release with iOS 18.1—so the wait will be worthwhile.
To operate all Apple Intelligence features—which, as most of you know, require a powerful chipset, Neural Engine, and sufficient RAM—the iPhone SE 4 might be outfitted with, at the very least, an A18.
OLED Screen and A18 Make SE 4 Stand Out
Not only will the iPhone SE 4 have Apple's first affordable OLED screen, but it's also said that it will use the A18 chipset, making it as powerful as the iPhone 16.
According to Mark Gurman's most recent 'Power On' newsletter, the budget model due out in 2025 will have Apple Intelligence and appear similar to the iPhone 14.
Our intuition tells us that the iPhone SE 4 will come with the A18 since running Apple Intelligence features requires either an A17 Pro, an A18, or an A18 Pro.
Our research leads us to believe that this model will not include the A17 Pro but rather will use TSMC's second-generation 3nm process. Apple may rebrand this model as the iPhone SE 4 to clear up any confusion among consumers.
Pricing Could Make or Break SE 4
iPhone SE fans can expect the phone to have a robust system on chip (SoC), Face ID, and a USB-C port among its features, shares WCCFTECH. The improvement may seem appealing, but the price is where it really shines or falls short.
Gurman thinks that Apple's upcoming product will be a huge hit with consumers. At a price point that many would consider "mid range," you are essentially receiving flagship-level technology with premium generative AI features.
