Apple is now speculated to release a new iPad Pro 2018 model within the next few months. While the company is still keeping all the details under wraps, files within a recent iOS 12 beta release might have just revealed what the upcoming tablet will look like.

9To5Mac reported on Wednesday that they have found a new-looking icon within the iOS 12 developer beta 5. And this image seems to be representing the next design for the rumored iPad Pro 2018.

The glyph, labeled as HLSipad2, in the iOS 12 beta supports earlier rumors that the iPad Pro 2018 will have an all-new design that resembles the iPhone X. So far, the image somehow confirms that the iPad Pro 2018 will have very slim bezels and will ditch the physical home button — just like the iPhone X in 2017.

However, the iPad Pro 2018 icon is interestingly not sporting a notch. This is especially surprising since Apple is rumored to apply the display notch design on all three iPhone 2018 models expected to be unveiled later this year.

Meanwhile, the lack of a physical home button on the rumored iPad Pro 2018 could also be telling Apple fans more. Without this button, this could mean that the iPad Pro 2018 will also have the Face ID technology, which means it will be carrying the TrueDepth camera as well.

The iPad Pro 2018, as well as the next lineup of iPhones, are expected to be revealed by September. And without Apple’s confirmation, all this information including the leaked icon within the iOS 12 developer beta 5 could be changed.

However, to those who have doubts about this leak, it can be recalled that this is almost the same way the world got its first-ever look on the iPhone X. A year ago, Apple released the HomePod firmware where a glyph of a strange-looking smartphone was found. Without the home button, with much thinner bezels, and the display notch — the glyph turned out to be the iPhone X.
