Apple has unveiled the iOS 13, but it will not go live until fall. However, tech fans now have a good idea on the new features to expect, especially on some of the most used apps and software like Messages and CarPlay.

As for Messages, one of the highly anticipated iOS 13 features is the ability to update User Profile by adding the user’s photo or customized Animoji. This way, their profile photo will appear upon sending messages to their friends. Users can also choose the group of people that can view their photo or avatar, whether it would be available to everyone or exclusively to their contacts.

There are other small updates on Messages through iOS 13 that will improve user experience. For one, the search engine within the app will be enhanced in several ways. For one, upon tapping the search bar, it will instantly show the latest searched keywords, whether it pertains to texts, contacts, and multimedia contents.

iOS 13 will also improve the details pane for every conversation on the Messages app. When a user presses the staple “i” button, they will be redirected to a page that shows links and locations as well as photos and files attached in the conversation. People using Facebook’s Messenger are likely familiar with this feature.

Another interesting new feature on iOS 13 is when someone is wearing a second-gen AirPod, incoming messages notification will be dictated by Siri. However, this function is not exclusive to the Messages app. Apple said this feature would be available on all messaging apps.

As for CarPlay, iOS 13 brings in a completely revamped CarPlay Dashboard. In a single page, users can view maps, volume controls, and Siri options while driving. Apple is also redesigning CarPlay’s home screen. And while the system-wide Dark Mode is iOS 13’s flagship, highlight CarPlay improvements include a light display setting for CarPlay’s UI.

Apple only mentioned iOS 13 coming out in fall. But traditionally, it goes live along with the release of new iPhones so the software update will most likely become available in September.
