The third beta build of iOS 12 is out now for everyone to try, but it might be worth holding off on that until Apple actually starts fixing its problems. As a beta build, it’s only natural that the iOS 12 would have its issue and there are plenty of them. On the other hand, it did fix some of the problems caused by the second beta build of iOS 12, so it’s a balancing game.
As Forbes notes, iOS 12 public beta 3 is something of a coming down scenario after the craziness that was public beta 2. For anyone who has tried out the latter and found that they couldn’t play "Fortnite" or couldn’t watch Netflix properly, those issues have apparently been fixed. On the other hand, T-Mobile users will still likely experience call issues in certain circumstances.
There’s also the matter of the signal strength on the iPhone X display being inaccurate and Siri Shortcuts might not work on certain platforms. These include CarPlay and HomePod.
Of course, all of these issues should have been expected beforehand. Anyone who doesn’t want to risk losing their data or to break their mobile devices might want to hold off on installing the iOS 12 beta. Then again, users could take the suggestion of TechCrunch and install the update on a device they don’t use often.
By doing so, users could see what all the fuss is about on an iPhone or iPad that won’t be a huge loss if they get busted. There is certainly some excitement involved in installing the beta version of iOS 12 before the September release of the final build.
It’s also clear that Apple loaded iOS 12 with some truly innovative features, including power and usage management. For frequent iMessage users, for example, the Memoji addition should prove quite entertaining.
