People using devices running on iOS and love jailbreaking tools receive good news this week. Pwn20wnd, a developer popular within the iOS jailbreak community, announced that a new version of the unc0ver tool is already available just a few days after unc0ver version 3.3.7 came out.

Pwn20wnd on fire with series of unc0ver updates in 1 week

The unc0ver version 3.4.0 was announced by Pwn20wnd on Twitter on Wednesday, and the actual iOS jailbreak tool is now available through the developer’s official GitHub page. Considering that its preceding update came out within the past week, jailbreaking fans should not expect much from the latest release. The only update cited under its changelog reads, “Replace the SockPort 2.0 exploit with the SockPuppet 2.0 exploit with better reliability and stability on older devices.”

Pwn20wnd released a total of seven updates to the unc0ver tool within the last seven days, including the latest version. One of the most notable recent updates was version 3.3.4 that added jailbreak support for devices powered by A7 to A9X chips and running on iOS 11.0-12.1.4. Meanwhile, unc0ver version 3.3.7 was released with improved reliability of the Sock Port kernel exploit on devices that support 4K resolution.

What’s next for the iOS jailbreaking community from Pwn20wnd?

The jailbreak tool updates will not stop with unc0ver version 3.4.0. On Thursday, Pwn20wnd posted a series of tweets confirming that the developer is already working on version 3.4.1. The next update will include a number of fixes and improvements such as the reported sandbox swap error and the RootFS Remount issue observed in devices running with iOS 12.2 beta.

The developer is also working on improving the reliability of the Sock Puppet 2, especially on devices with the A7 chip in unc0ver 3.4.1. Pwn20wnd is also looking for volunteers to test out the next update, specifically those with an iPhone 5S on iOS 12.2.

These updates and the iOS jailbreaking tool itself are free to download on Pwn20wnd’s GitHub page. But the developer also accepts donations through his PayPal and Patreon accounts.
