MIAMI, July 20, 2017 -- dotHealth LLC announced today that .health domains are now available for the health industry. The .health top-level domain (TLD) is designed to be the premier web address for those who are advancing the health and wellness industry and will provide a new home for health online for brands, organizations and individuals who provide high-quality health products, services and information.

Industry-leading brands such as Mayo Clinic, United Healthcare, Pfizer, Apple, Google, and Amazon are leading the way, by having secured their .health domain names during the first phase of the .health launch for trademark holders. A list of early adopters already using .health for their websites can be found at www.get.health/healthsetters.
“While education has .edu and organizations have .org, there has never been an identifiable place people could go for focused, meaningful health information online. Searching for health information is the 3rd most common online activity*, so we’re excited to address this problem and have .health be the home for health online.” Jose Ignacio Rasco, CEO of dotHealth.
In order to register a .health domain starting today, applicants must validate they are a qualified member of the health industry and obtain an Industry Access token from a health-related organization that has partnered with dotHealth, or apply directly from dotHealth at www.get.health/apply.
In addition to the token process for Industry Access, dotHealth is taking additional steps to ensure the .health domain is secure, credible and focused. The registry is powered by Neustar’s technology, and all registered .health domains are monitored by LegitScript to protect against health-related content that is unsafe, illegal, or puts internet users’ health and safety at risk.
Registrants who adopt .health domains will also be subject to stringent terms and policies that ensure the integrity of the extension and deter misuse. These terms and policies are being developed with the assistance of an advisory board of health and technology experts, including:
- Nicolai Bezsonoff, VP of Neustar
- John Brownstein, PhD, Chief Innovation Officer at Boston Children’s Hospital
- John Horton, CEO of LegitScript
- Daniel Kraft, MD, Chair of Medicine at Singularity University
- Dori Salcido, CEO of Salcido Strategies
