Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, a lot of upcoming sports events such as UEFA’s Euro 2020 face the possibility of being postponed or even canceled. Fortunately for football fans, UEFA’s Euro 2020 national team tournament will still arrive on the “eFootball PES 2020”
The Euro 2020 DLC release date will still push through despite what might happen to its real-life counterpart, Eurogamer reported. Konami announced that the “eFootball PES 2020” DLC will arrive as a free update on April 30, 2020.
The free downloaded content will be free to download for all supported platforms of the game. This means that PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players will be able to enjoy the DLC once it arrives.
The Euro 2020 DLC will make the tournament even more realistic for players by including all 55 Uefa national teams, which will arrive in the “eFootball PES 2020” along with their squads and kits. In fact, the Wembley Stadium set to be the venue of the Euro final on July 12, has been painstakingly recreated in the game.
The real-life game, however, is likely to be facing postponement. Eufa recently called an emergency meeting to discuss “the possibility of postponing Euro 2020 by one year,” BBC reported.
At the moment, the Euro 2020 is slated to commence on June 12 and last until July 12 this year. Fifty five-member teams of the league will compete at various venues across Europe.
Should Eufa eventually decide to postpone the Euro 2020, it won’t be the first tournament whose schedule was disrupted due to the coronavirus. The European league La Liga has been suspended on Thursday due to the pandemic.
The Danish Football Association decided to cancel all scheduled matches for two weeks. Meanwhile, Eredivisie in the Netherlands has been suspended until March 31. Italy’s Serie A was also suspended until April 3 as the country is busy dealing with tackling the coronavirus.
The Euro 2020 DLC is a key update for the “PES 2020.” It was reported that Konami plans to take advantage of the increased anticipation among fans for the real-time tournament. That’s the reason why it timed its release a month before the actual real-life tournament starts.
